EXPLANATION FOR SOME WEEKLY GAMES

Match Play – Players will play the next player in line on the handicap list that is present on that day.  The player with the higher handicap will get a stroke per hole, starting with the hole rated 1 in the HANDICAP line on the score card, up to the number of strokes difference in the handicaps.  Ex.: Player A hcp. = 25; Player B hcp. = 27.  Player B gets one stroke on Hole 5 (Hcp. 1) and one stroke on hole 16 (Hcp. 2).

Skins – Players will be grouped according to handicap and strokes  given as in match play.  There must be a single winner for each hole.  If here is a tie on a hole, the prize is carried over to the next hole. 

Hole Values:  Holes 1-6 = $0.25           Holes 7-12 = $0.50                  Holes 13-18 = $0.75

Red, White & Blue – Choose to play 1 white & 1 blue tee on both front and back - total of 4 holes.  Consider #'s 1, 2, 9, 11, & 17.

Pinehurst Scotch  (2 lady teams):  Both partners hit tee shots on each hole.  Partners then switch and hit their partner’s ball as their second shots.  After the second shots, the team selects the better ball of the pair.  Partners hit alternate shots from the selected ball to complete the hole.  Record both gross and net scores.  The average of the two players’ handicaps will be used as the team handicap.

Scramble, Alternate Shot - (Four Player teams, two players per cart):  Each player hits a tee shot.  Choose the best tee shot, then all four players hit a second shot from this point.  The ball must be played within one club length of the original position, no closer to the hole, and the original condition (fairway, rough, etc.) must be maintained.  The players in one cart choose the best second shot of their two shots and the players in the other cart choose their best second shot.  The player in each cart whose second shot was not used hits the third shot, then the players in each cart alternate shots until the ball is holed.  The ball is to be played as it lies for the third and succeeding shots, without changing balls, unless the ball is in the fairway or on the green.  Normal rules apply in the fairway (ball may be moved up to one club length, no closer to the hole) and on the green.  The ball may be changed in the fairway or on the green.  Each team will have two scores, one for each cart.  The total of these two will be the team score.  On par three's if the best drive is on the green, all players putt from that point.  If a player holes the second shot, she and her partner get a birdie.  The other pair must still putt and alternate shots until their ball is holed.

Stableford - Net - The net score for each hole is figured, then points assigned as follows:

Bogie = 1 pt.      Par = 2 pt.       Birdie = 3 pt.      Eagle = 5 pt.       Hole in one = 5 pt.

Bingo, Bango, Bongo - Play in foursomes or threesomes (pool prize money within groups, in foursomes, winner gets $5.00, 2nd place $3.00; in threesomes, winner gets $4.00, 2nd place $2.00.  One point is given for the first ball on the green, one point for the ball closest to the pin after all balls are on the green (it doesn't matter how many strokes it took to get to the green), and one point for the first ball in the hole.  A chip-in counts two points (closest to the pin, and first in the hole).  On par 3's, if more than one ball is on the green, the closest to the pin is given the point for first on the green, then after all balls are on the green, the point for closest to the pin is awarded.  If all balls are on the green from the tee, the closest to the pin is awarded two points.  If two players are equidistant from the hole after all balls are on the green, they each get one point.
